“The coaching staff really made me and my family feel welcome,” Polley said. The Bears, who initially contacted Polley in January of this year, were his first offer. Polley verbally committed to Baylor on Monday afternoon. He will be playing football in college, not basketball, because he has a God-given gift to catch the ball.
Seemingly nothing has gone as planned for Polley, in a good way. The District is committed to keeping students safe, both physically and emotionally. This type of behavior and language is not in line with the values of our District, staff and community who work hard every day to instill exemplary character and behavior in all Katy ISD students. However, it is important to note there are other related incidents that continue to be under investigation that would lead to additional consequences for any student found to be involved.

The student responsible will face disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Katy ISD Discipline Management Student Code of Conduct and Athletic Code of Conduct. Campus administration, Katy ISD police and local law enforcement thoroughly investigated the video incident. Official Statement from Katy ISD: " On Friday, October 4, 2019, Katy ISD Administration and the Katy ISD Police Department were informed of the inappropriate behavior and language of a student on the Katy High School Varsity Football Team. High school football fans have a lot to look forward to in region 3.Katy ISD released a statement to VYPE as well about the incident. We should see some epic showdowns with North Shore in that time. I expect Katy to come on very strongly in the next two years.Katy is certainly well positioned for the next few years. I expect Katy to come on very strongly in the next two years. Katy HS would make for a very intriguing study overall just because it is so unique geographically and so demographically diverse. However, as long as Katy proper stays as family friendly as it is now it's tough to see the star fading entirely. I only see "trouble" for Katy HS growth wise when the high school to the NNW of Katy proper opens eventually, and if one gets built due west of old Katy to account for new areas popping up that way. It is an area which has proven almost impossible to completely build out and landlock, so the area has been able to consistently attract new families and sustain growth despite the explosion around it with other schools opening and taking neighborhoods from KHS. When looking at Katy as an area, Katy High School has been in a great position just in terms of the real estate. From my perspective, the outlook is very good for Katy on the talent front. Smith will continue Katy's running back production, and he will have help as well. Defensively, there were young contributors all over as well and more emerged as the season progressed. Katy has four returning receivers and two tight ends who played first team roles this year, so the passing game should be a big time weapon going forward. With Bronson McClelland, Katy has its best QB talent since Brooks Haack (2009-2011) and Bo Levi Mitchell (2006-2007)/Andy Dalton (2004-2005). All year, the feel in 2018 was that this would be a reloading season after the 2017 seniors graduated. The next two years will be very good chances for Katy to make a serious run at state. I would say Katy is in the best shape talent wise it has been since the legendary 2015 class left.
This senior class was one of the weaker Katy's fielded in recent years. Katy has a large amount of young talent in the program right now from the current freshman to junior classes (19 returning players with starting experience).
